When the snow melts, our hens are moved every 5-7 days to fresh pasture, following behind the cows and goats who work hard to shorten the grass so they can see all the bugs and insects crawling about. Their moveable home is situated within a 1400 sq/ft area that is protected by poultry netting and they have 24/7 access to non-certified organic grain. There is fresh water on a float valve to keep their water cool and shade is provided by their structure. In the winter our girls stay in a ventilated hoop house layered with 24” of woodchips and hay.
